AIDC's New Online Marketplace Opens on Monday

Filmmakers, sales agents, distributors, and networks are invited to submit their projects to Videotheque and Trailer Park.

MeetMarket Submissions Closing Soon

MeetMarket brings together selected documentary filmmakers with national and international executive producers, broadcasters and distributors attending AIDC 2010.

MeetMarket is open to all documentary filmmakers from Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Projects entered may be at any stage of development, production or post production. There is no entry fee to apply.

Executive producers, broadcasters and distributors view two minute pitch teasers of 25 selected documentary projects online through the Screening Room in advance of attending AIDC. After viewing the pitch teasers, the executives choose which projects they wish to discuss further in one-on-one meetings with the documentary producers. These meetings are scheduled during AIDC 2010.

Stanley Hawes Award Nominations Closing Soon

Nominations close 23 November 2009.

The AIDC is calling for nominations for the prestigious AIDC Stanley Hawes Award for outstanding contribution to Australian documentary. This $5000 Award recognises practitioners for their body of work (encompassing all craft areas) and who have enhanced the value and awareness of documentary in Australia.

The nominated individual may be a producer, director, editor, cinematographer, sound recordist or any other practitioner in the field of Australian documentary.

Mini Documentary Competition Closing Soon

Australian Ethical in association with the Documentary Australia Foundation is seeking entries to a competition for very short documentary films on the theme of Corporate Responsibility and the Environment.

Films can focus on local or worldwide environmental issues, and should take into account the connection between corporate decisions and the state of the natural environment. The maximum length is two minutes.

1st prize - $12500
2nd prize - $8000
3rd prize - $5000

The prizes will be awarded at AIDC 2010. The top ten entries will be screened at the Conference followed by an awards ceremony. Winners will also receive a domestic airfare to Adelaide and one night’s accommodation so they can attend the prize giving ceremony at AIDC 2010.
